SACNAS volunteers make a huge impact for our organization, dedicating nearly 7,000 hours each year to the national conference and SACNAS programs. Volunteering for 2016 SACNAS is a fantastic way to give back, meet new people at the conference, and challenge yourself professionally. Whether you are a mentor, speaker, or reviewer your work will make a significant impact on our community of SACNISTAs.
There are many ways to get involved with 2016 SACNAS as a volunteer including:
As a Mentor Judge, you will be assigned (per day) approximately 4 to 5 presentations in your discipline to view. We provide the judge’s packet on site with the guidelines and rubric. Each presentation takes about 15 minutes to view, so you can expect to volunteer anywhere from 1.5 hours each day.
Eligibility to mentor judge research presentations:
**Note: Students in Master or PhD programs are not eligible.
Dates and Times
Conversations with Scientists is SACNAS's signature mentoring event. In this 90 minute program, undergraduate and graduate students can meet and speak with mentors in their own fields. Participants are divided into rooms based on discipline. Mentors answer specific questions, and also share their own educational and professional stories.
